Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-10
Auriga is in beta and pre-revenue. These terms describe how the app handles your data today; the policy will be updated as we add features. Material changes are emailed to you at least 14 days in advance.
TL;DR
- Auriga is a fitness app, not a medical service. Always talk to your doctor.
- We give you a license to use the app. We don't sell you the underlying software.
- We can change or end the service with notice.
- You're responsible for what you log and how you train.
- Disputes are handled by the courts of [your jurisdiction].
1. Who's who
These Terms govern your use of Auriga, operated by Pedro Boudreau (operating as Auriga, pre-incorporation) (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Auriga, you (“you,” “user”) agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
If you're using Auriga on behalf of someone else (e.g., a personal trainer using it with clients) — you're agreeing on your own behalf, not theirs. Each user must accept their own Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Auriga.
You must not have any medical condition that makes exercise unsafe without supervision. If you do, talk to your doctor before using Auriga.
You must use Auriga only for personal, non-commercial purposes — except for trainers and coaches in our partner program (separate agreement applies).
3. Auriga is not medical advice
This is the most important section. Read it carefully.
Auriga is a fitness app. We help you train smarter by adapting to your cycle, sleep, symptoms, and last session. We are NOT:
- A medical service.
- A diagnostic tool.
- A substitute for advice from your doctor, midwife, pelvic floor PT, gynecologist, or any other licensed healthcare professional.
- Approved by the FDA or any equivalent regulatory body.
Auriga does NOT:
- Diagnose any condition (cycle disorder, perimenopause, postpartum depression, eating disorder, anything else).
- Treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
- Replace medical screening, medication, or therapy.
- Tell you whether you're healthy enough to exercise — only your doctor can.
If you experience pain, leakage, dizziness, chest tightness, or any concerning symptom, stop training and contact a healthcare provider. Auriga's substitution suggestions and form cues are general guidance, not medical instructions.
If you're postpartum, recently injured, pregnant, perimenopausal, or have any chronic condition, talk to your doctor before starting any program — including Auriga.
By using Auriga, you confirm:
- You're cleared by a healthcare professional to exercise.
- You understand Auriga's recommendations are based on general fitness principles, not your individual medical history.
- You take full responsibility for your training decisions.
4. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately and email us.
You're responsible for all activity on your account. We're not liable for losses caused by someone else using your account if you didn't take reasonable security precautions.
You can have multiple profiles in one account (e.g., your wife and you each get their own profile under one shared subscription). Each profile is treated as a separate user for data purposes.
5. The license we give you
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Auriga for your personal training. You don't own the software. We do.
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code.
- Resell access to your account.
- Use Auriga to build a competing product.
- Scrape, mine, or extract data from Auriga without permission.
- Upload viruses or malicious code.
- Pretend to be someone else when you sign up.
- Use Auriga in any way that violates the law.
If you do any of these, we may suspend or terminate your account.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Auriga offers a Free tier and paid tiers (Pro, Elite). Pricing is published on our website.
When you start a paid subscription:
- Billing happens monthly or annually, depending on your plan.
- Your card is charged on the date you signed up and the same date each billing cycle.
- Pricing may change. We'll give you 30 days' email notice before any price change affects your subscription.
- If we offer a free trial, your card is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Refunds are issued at our discretion, generally for accidental charges or service outages.
You can cancel any time from Settings → Subscription, or via Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We don't pro-rate or refund partial months.
If a payment fails, we'll retry for 7 days. If it still fails, your subscription is suspended and your account drops to the Free tier.
7. Beta access (current period)
While Auriga is in beta:
- The service may have bugs.
- Features may change without notice.
- Some features may be removed.
- Your data may be migrated as we change the underlying system (we'll never delete data without warning).
- Pricing during beta is locked at the rate you signed up at, for as long as you stay subscribed without canceling.
We'll do our best to give you a stable experience, but we make no guarantees during beta.
8. Service availability
We try to keep Auriga running 24/7, but we can't promise it will always be up. Scheduled maintenance, network issues, or unexpected outages can happen. We won't be liable for any losses caused by downtime, but we'll communicate proactively when we know about it.
9. Content you submit
When you log workouts, symptoms, or notes, that content is yours. You give us a license to display it back to you and use it to operate the service (powering the AI coach, predictions, etc.).
We won't use your content for marketing or research without your explicit, opt-in consent.
If you upload photos (body composition tracking), the same rules apply — yours, used only to display back to you, never shared.
10. AI Coach disclaimer
The AI Coach gives general training and recovery advice based on common patterns and your logged data. The AI is not infallible. It can give wrong advice, especially for unusual cases.
You're responsible for using common sense. If the AI suggests something that seems wrong for your body, don't do it. Contact your doctor or a qualified coach if you're unsure.
We're not liable for injuries or losses caused by following AI Coach advice.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We'll erase your data within 30 days of deletion (we keep backups for technical recovery, then they're purged).
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or engage in fraud. We'll usually warn you first unless the violation is severe.
If you're charged for a subscription you can't use because we terminated your account for a violation, no refund is owed.
12. Changes to these Terms
We can update these Terms. If the changes are material (affecting your rights or what we charge), we'll email you 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Auriga after the changes take effect, you accept them.
13. Disclaimers and limits of liability
Auriga is provided “as is.” We make no warranty that the service will be error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose, beyond what's required by law in your jurisdiction.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we're not liable for:
- Indirect damages (lost profits, lost time, mental distress)
- Damages caused by third-party services (Stripe, AI provider, etc.)
- Injuries or losses from following Auriga's training recommendations
Our maximum liability for any claim is the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
This section doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
14. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first at hello@auriga.fit. Most disputes resolve without lawyers.
If you can't resolve it that way, formal disputes are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction] and resolved by the courts of [your jurisdiction]. (We'll update this section once Auriga is incorporated and a governing-law clause is chosen.)
